Appetizer Catering

Advice for planning your appetizer function

Consider serving appetizers as a casual alternative to a meal.  Set up a “food action” station such as potato latkes cooked on site.  Include some easy dishes such as a sliced beef tenderloin served with two sauces (chimicurri and an herbed mustard/mayo).  Consider drink choices.  Perhaps a chilled sangria or a tub filled with ice and artisanal beers?  And don’t forget some non-alcoholic beverages.



  • napkins – about 4 per person per hour or 2 if guests are using small plates.  We supply napkins with most appetizer orders.
  • glasses – enough so that guests can trade a used one for a clean one at least once (or perhaps more)
  • cutlery – 2 forks per person if you are serving items which require forks
  • on average, guests will consume about 5 hors d’oeuvres per person per hour for the first 2 hours and 3 per person each additional hour
  • if the party is followed by a meal, then fewer appetizers per hour will be required
  • try to have variety (including some vegetarian options if necessary)
  • if you are serving alcohol try to serve food early so guests aren’t drinking on an empty stomach
  • spread the food through the room to provide for good traffic flow
  • Should you require service for your event please discuss it with our catering manager. We require 2 weeks notice for this. The catering manager can be reached at 667-2202 Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm.

  • In order to construct a menu and quote we either need to know what you would like to serve or have some indication of your budget.  We also need a date and times for your event, where it will be held and whether or not you will require delivery.

An update of the traditional veggie platter. We lightly steam broccoli & beans, roast yams and potatoes but leave most in their natural state. Served with our housemade roasted garlic dip.

We will select an interesting and elegant combination of the following Mediterranean delicacies: grilled eggplant, fennel & peppers, roasted garlic, Greek mushrooms and artichoke hearts, pepperoncinos, pickled asparagus, melons & proscuito, marinated cheese, green olives, basil tapenade, salami & sausage bites.

Foccacia Deluxe- 10″ round

Our housemade savory foccacia, drizzled with olive oil and baked with your choice of flavorful toppings.

Phyllo Triangles
These little pies are savoury, crisp and hold well during a prolonged event. Bite-sized, they are handy at cocktail parties and after-work functions.

We lightly toast our fresh sunflower baguette, cover it with a tasty spread and top it with delectable treats. Each looks swank & yummy.

Cabbage & Carrot Panfried Dumplings with Gingered Soy
A savory bundle of minced cabbage & carrot gently flavored with ginger & garlic. Served with a gingered soy sauce. Delicious warm or at room temperature.

Caramelized Onion and Gorgonzola tarts
The sweetness of the onions marries perfectly with the blue cheese to creat a rich, creamy and balanced flavour. All on a beautiful puff pastry crust.

Layered Bean Dip
Housemade refried black beans, avocado, spiced sour cream & cheeses with cilantro, black olives & green onion are layered then baked until bubbly. Served warm or room temperature with tortilla chips.

Jalapeno Poppers
Fresh jalapenos stuffed with a seasoned mix of cheeses & green onion, wrapped in bacon, and baked to crispy perfection.  Delicious either hot or at room temperature.

Chicken charmoula skewers
Chicken marinated in Middle Eastern curry spices, skewered and baked just until done. Served with a cucumber yogourt sauce. These offer you and your guests a light meat option.

Sausage stuffed Mushrooms
Large mushroom caps stuffed with the flavours of Italy.  The mushrooms are tossed in olive oil and marsala wine then stuffed with sweet Italian sausage, mascarpone & parmesan cheeses, garlic and herbs.  A quality take on an old favourite.

Small patties of elk or bison on a housemade brioche roll with roasted garlic mayo and wild cranberry chutney.

Cedar Planked Brie
A 400 gram (just under 1 lb) round of brie topped with roasted garlic and cranberry chutney. We BBQ it on a cedar plank which imparts a smoky flavour. Served with bread fresh from our bakery.

Italian Deli Style Brie
450 gm. (1 lb) round of brie topped with roasted garlic, fresh arugula, basil, pine nuts, fresh tomatoes & capers and baked just until cheese begins to melt. (can be reheated in microwave). Divine to eat and beautiful to look at. Served with fresh baguette from our bakery

Dips & Spreads

Roasted Pepita Dip
The full bodied flavour of roasted pumpkin seeds mixed with tomatoes & spices. A Claim classic. Served with fresh bread.

It’s an old favourite for a reason! Garbanzo beans, garlic, tahini and olive oil make for a most pleasing taste sensation. Served with fresh bread.

Artichoke Asiago Dip
This dip is served warm and fills the room with its fragrance. We serve it with fresh bread or corn chips or a combination of both.

Sundried Tomato or Pesto Pate
Cream cheese pates flavoured liberally with either sundried tomato or basil pesto and whipped to lighten. Served with fresh bread.

Sesame Almond Miso Spread
A full flavoured vegan dip. You won’t be able to stop eating this! We serve it with a variety of crackers for spreading.
