How it all Works

Ordering

Catering orders are accepted only through the catering office.  Catering is defined as anything which cannot be purchased by walking into the cafe.  The catering office is staffed weekdays between 7:30am and 3pm.  Cafe staff will accept orders for cakes at the front counter providing the counter is not busy.  If the catering office staff is in they can speak with you in person.  More reliable methods are telephone (667-2202) or email (chocolateclaim@northwestel.net) .

Delivery/Pickup

If your event is a non-repeating single delivery our staff will pick up our equipment the Monday, Wednesday or Friday following your event. If you require same day pickup and we are able to accommodate your request we will apply a second delivery charge. All orders totalling less than $100 will be subject to a small order surcharge in addition to the regular delivery fee.

Our delivery service includes the timely delivery and set up of the ordered product. It does not include room cleanup or take down of the service. It is the client’s responsibility to arrange with the facility a space where the equipment can be stored until our schedule allows for pickup the following Monday, Wednesday or Friday.

If we are required to attempt additional pickups, there will be a surcharge of 50% of the original delivery fee incurred for each additional attempt.

Alternatively, the client can return the equipment to The Chocolate Claim and receive a 50% discount of the delivery/pickup fee. The client is responsible to inform The Chocolate Claim staff of the date, time and location of the event and name in which it was booked in order to ensure proper allocation of the discount.

If the catering order is picked up at The Chocolate Claim it is the responsibility of the client to return all equipment to The Chocolate Claim in a timely manner. The client is responsible for informing The Chocolate Claim staff of the date, time and location of the event and client’s name in order that our records show that equipment was returned. Failure to do so may result in charges for equipment replacement.

Staffing

If you would like to have your event staffed 2 weeks’ notice is required.  We charge $50/person/hour for staffing.  This is charged in real time from when staff leaves our shop to when they return to our shop.

Plates, cutlery, cups etc.

We provide all disposable products required to consume the food and drink ordered at no charge.  We are able to provide china (with advance notice) and can provide a quote for this service.   Some (but not all) of our disposable product is compostable.

Payment

We accept Visa and Mastercard as well as debit cards.  Local cheques may be accepted with appropriate identification.

If credit has been approved we will issue an invoice after service is completed.  Payment is due 14 days after issue of our invoice.  We apply interest to all overdue invoices.
